The issues of recognizing vaccination certificates for international students who are going to study at Russian universities remain under the Ministry of Health jurisdiction, TASS reports.

According to the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Yevgeny Primakov, the recognition of foreign jabs is procedure is being developed by the health department. He clarified that important to know exactly what type of vaccines the applicants have used.

“The Ministry of Health should decide whether the vaccines of Pfizer, AstraZeneca and others will be recognized in order to cross our borders,” Yevgeny Primakov specified.

This topic is important to resolve since there are many requests from students from abroad, who are asking the Russian authorities to help them to start their studies at Russian universities. The corresponding appeal was passed on to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova.

So far, the algorithm for obtaining such permission is difficult. Due to restrictions aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus infection, students can't enter Russia as easy as before the pandemics. Today, it is possible to issue a Russian visa to a citizen of another country only with an individual permit issued by Russian operational headquarters.
