International Forum of Young Writers is taking place in Moscow region

The International Forum of Young Writers started the day before, on March 21. This year it celebrates its anniversary - it is being held for the 20th time. It is organized by the Foundation for Social, Economic and Intellectual Programs (SIEP Foundation).

Representatives of the so-called "thick" literary magazines were involved in the large-scale event: Voprosy literatury, Druzhba Narodov, Znamya, Foreign Literature, Bonfire, Our Contemporary, Novy Mir, October, Youth and others.

Writers from Russia, the CIS countries and abroad, who are just beginning their career, gathered in the Moscow region. To become a member of the forum, they had to pass a selection in a literary competition. Now they will be able to meet already experienced writers and poets.

The program includes 15 master classes, several round tables will be held. An evening of memories of Joseph Brodsky is planned, it was timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Nobel Prize laureate. They will be complemented by presentations of literary novelties, creative meetings with writers, actors and directors.

Among the honorary guests of the forum are the adviser to the head of state on culture Vladimir Tolstoy, poets Yevgeny Rein and Oleg Chukhontsev, writers Sergei Shargunov, Alexei Varlamov and many others.

Over the years of the forum's existence, more than 3,000 authors have received a ticket to the big literature. Based on the results of the discussions, the best works of young authors will be recommended for publication. And those participants who are planning to get a higher literary education are recommended for admission to the Gorky Literary Institute.
