Experts from Russia and Malaysia to discuss role of Russians in world culture

An international conference uniting Russia and Malaysia will take place on December 12. It is conducted by the Miklouho-Maclay Foundation. The forum entitled "Russian cultural figures as a world phenomenon" will be held online, it will become the 2nd in a row, according to the project's website on Facebook.

The first conference, which took place the other day, was a great success, about 300 people joined it. The participants of the forum learned about how the bilateral relations were born and developed. One of the most important historical pages is Nikolai Miklouho-Maclay's trip to Asia. The ethnographer and traveler visited it in the 19th century.

The conference is intended not only for residents of Russia, but also for those who live in the ASEAN countries. The main task of the project is to increase interest in the study of the Russian language with the help of stories about outstanding Russian scientists, artists, writers, whose achievements are known all over the world.

The forum discussed the state of the Russian language in Malaysia. The participants exchanged practical experience in the field of international education and the study of Russian as a foreign language.
