The Flower Show 2020 international festival of gardens and flowers opened in the Russian capital for the ninth time. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the festival will be held online. About 300 companies specializing in landscape design from 20 countries are taking part in it. Competitions for amateur gardener will be held for the first time within the festival, RIA Novosti reports.

Moscow Flower Show is considered the largest event in Russia in the field of landscape design. Each year, the festival gathers the world's leading experts in the field of landscape gardening art, and tens of thousands of Muscovites and guests of the capital become guests of the events.

Thanks to the virtual format of the event, the Moscow Flower Show will be available to amateurs and professionals around the world. Internet users will see the stands of companies, as well as be able to rate their creative work and ask questions to famous designers, architects and florists. The works of the masters will be evaluated by a professional international jury chaired by James Alexander-Sinclair of the Royal Horticultural Society of Great Britain.

The 9th festival was timed to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Participants from cities of military glory will demonstrate their creativity and skill.
