Sergei Yursky passed away, RIA Novosti reports. The popular artist died at the age of 84. According to his daughter, cardiac arrest became the cause of death. She noted that her father was ill for a long time.
Sergei Yursky was born in Leningrad. At first, he chose another path and entered the law faculty, despite the fact that his parents' professions were associated with art. He became one of the actors of student drama studio at Leningrad University and transferred to a theater institute. He started working at Bolshoi Drama Theater being a student. He spent two decades on the stage of BDT.
After that, Sergei Yursky moved to the capital and became one of the leading artists of the Mossovet Theater. He played major roles in many performances and worked as a director.
The roles that Sergei Yursky played in the movies brought him huge love of the audience. His characters in The Republic of ShKID, The Golden calf, Love and Dove, and The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed series are well known and remembered by millions of people of different generations.
Sergei Yursky also performed a lot with literary programs. The repertoire of the magnificent reader included works of classics of Russian literature and contemporary authors.
Farewell to Sergei Jurassic will take place at the Mossovet Theater.
