Russian President: Visit of Saudi Arabia’s Kind to Moscow is a landmark event

Russian Presidential Administration Visit of Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Russia will become an additional motivation for reinforcing ties between the two countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin believes. The meeting of the two leaders took place in Moscow yesterday, October 5.
 
The Head of State expressed his gratitude to the King for accepting the invitation to pay a visit to our country. He called this visit a landmark event and reminded that this is the first visit in the history of the bilateral relations of Saudi Arabia and Russia.

Vladimir Putin has added that ninety years ago Soviet Union was the first to acknowledge the Kingdom established by father of the present monarch Abdul bin Saud.

King of Saudi Arabia in his turn has stressed out that development of relations with Russia is very important for preserving peace and stability on regional and global levels as well as for development of the world economics.

As per the materials prepared for the official visit of the King to Russia, both countries pay much attention to increasing interaction in humanitarian sphere. In particular, cooperation programme in the field of culture until 2019 has been agreed.

The plan is that Kingdom citizens should watch performance of Mariinksy Theatre symphonic orchestra. The Bolshoi Theatre artists and other troupes from Russia will perform in Saudi Arabia.

The documents state that active contacts between Saudi Arabia and Russian Federation are supported by Russian regions too.
