Metropolis Olympiad starts in Moscow

05.09.2017

mos.ruMetropolis Olympiad for schoolchildren is taking place in Moscow these days, Moscow Governor’s website reports. Around 400 students from major cities and world capitals will compete in physics, chemistry, computer sciences and mathematics at the Olympiad.

It is worth reminding that similar Olympiad took place a year ago. Moscow students became winners last year. The difference of this tournament with the other ones is that it is not conducted for individual pupils but for teams consisting of 8 people aged from 14 till 18 years old, two people per discipline.

They fought for the victory in quick round of questions where they had to answer 80 questions correctly – twenty assignments of the Unified State Exam level for each Olympiad discipline. The results of this competition will not affect overall results as participants offered variants of assignments to organizers themselves. However, it is a perfect chance to get tuned for the forthcoming Olympiad.

Moscow students having failed to enter the main Olympiad tour are welcome to check their knowledge in the quick round of questions. Access to assignments will be provided to teams who registered at the specialized website beforehand. All questions are in English; however, Moscow schoolers can choose assignments in Russian.
