3rd International Pedagogical Forum Russian World. Education of the Future starts in Sochi

In the morning of 6 December, 3rd International Pedagogical Forum Russian World. Education of the Future started its work in Sochi. Three hundred school teachers and university professors of the Russian language and literature representing 30 countries meet at the Zhemchuzhina hotel complex located on the Black Sea coast.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Forum, Prorector of Saint Petersburg State University, Deputy Chairman of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Management Board Sergei Bogdanov noted that the Forum is one of the steps taken in order to implement the national program on the support of the Russian language and literature.

– The Russian language is the only condition that allows reaching the unity of the society members and realizing their personal potential, President of the Russian Academy of Education, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Ludmila Verbitskaya noted, delivering her speech at the Forum opening ceremony. Speaking about the contribution made by teachers of the Russian language and literature to the preservation of the Russian language, she reminded the following words said by academician Dmitry Sergeevich Likhaxhev: « Humanitarization of education is the way to achieve humanitarization of the society».

– The task education deals with is to mould human personality besides providing school students with knowledge in different subjects. Teachers of the Russian language and literature play an important part in the process, Executive Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Vladimir Kochin said delivering his speech. He expressed his hope that holding of Russian World pedagogical forums will become a good tradition.

The first Prorector of Saint Petersburg State University Ilya Dementyev underlined that the current Forum is expected to contribute to the overcoming of a number of challenges Russian education faces today. According to him, on the one hand, the access to education provides people with great opportunities to become successful in their careers, and on the other hand, it forms a hard competition Russian education system takes part in. He gave the Research Institute for the National Language established at the university as an example of an institution that uses system approach to solving that kind of problems.

Ludmila Verbitskaya read out greeting messages addressed to the Forum participants received from Head of the Association of Russian Literature Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus’ Kirill, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, Ministry of Education of the RF Olga Vasilyeva, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the RF Sergei Lavrov, and a telegram of congratulations received from Presidential Envoy to Russia's Southern Federal District Vladimir Ustinov. div>

The International Russian World Pedagogical Forum is a ground where urgent matters of teaching the Russian language and literature both in Russia and foreign countries are discussed. In 2016, it is arranged by Saint Petersburg State University, the Russian Association of Teachers of the Russian language and Literature (RATRLL), the Russian Academy of Education and the Russkiy Mir Foundation.
