Tampere hosts 17th Russian-Finnish Cultural Forum

Photo: kultforum.ru The 17th Russian-Finnish Cultural Forum has started in Tampere, Finland. Its main topic is “Children and young people as a cultural resource and cultural capital of the future”. Representatives of government authorities and public organizations, scientists, students and Russian and Finnish cultural professionals are among the forum participants.

President of the RF Vladimir Putin has sent his cordial greetings to the participants of the Forum, reports Kremlin website. According to him, that important event plays a big part in social life both of Russia and Finland. The Russian leader appreciated its contribution to looking for ways for the settlement of important matters of relations settling between the two countries.

Vladimir Putin underlines that it is extremely important to introduce the younger generation to spiritual values and cultural traditions. He reminded about the fact that Russia pays a lot of attention to that. President Putin believes that the representatives of our country will be able to share their experience and new ideas in the field and will have the opportunity to learn a lot of useful things relating to the sphere from their Finnish colleagues.

“I think that your cooperation will contribute to the strengthening of Russia-Finland relations and to the preservation and augmentation of good traditions and mutual respect Russian and Finnish people experience towards each other”, President of the RF noted.

The Forum is aimed at the mainstreaming of culture in bilateral relations and at the support of the regional development of the two countries. In addition, it contributes to the implementation of co-projects and is a point of contact for Russian and Finnish cultural and art professionals.
