No Russian citizen affected by explosions in Thailand

According to representatives of the law-enforcement agencies of Pattani, there are no foreigners among the fatalities and injured. Up to now, information on the only victim of the incident has been available and about 30 people are reported to be wounded. All of them are Thailand residents.

The police have specified that there were three explosions. They occurred next to a karaoke bar, near the Southern View Hotel and at the local market. The explosion that occurred at the entrance to the hotel was the most massive.

Thai coastal town of Pattani is the administrative center of the Pattani province located in the southern part of Thailand. The region has been experiencing the confrontation between the power ministries and the local Islamic separatists since 2004.
