Town of Rzhev celebrates its 800th anniversary

A town of Military Glory Rzhev celebrates its 800th anniversary today, reports TASS. Rzhev residents will take part in a ceremonial parade starting festivities. The march starts in the Square of Revolution.

According to the local authorities, various events dated to the town’s jubilee have been arranged since the beginning of 2016 but the major celebration is scheduled for June 25, which is the date when the Day of Rzhev is celebrated.

A lot of concerts and streets parties are to be held in Rzhev downtown. The holiday will end with a laser show dealing with the history of Rzhev and a firework Lights over the Volga.

The program of the holiday includes an exhibition of military hardware, a competition show performed by the members of the Gurza military patriotic club , festivals of animators and a spectacular foam оpen air party.

Rzhev citizens and the guests of the town have a chance to visit a concert given by the Song and Dance Company of the National Guard of the RF besides many other events.
