The Historico-Cultural Forum in Veliky Novgorod

On 8-10 October, 2014 Veliky Novgorod, under the auspices of the Russkiy Mir Foundation will host the Historico-Cultural Forum of the Russian World. This Forum will be aimed at contributing to the preservation and growing popularity of the achievements of the Russian culture and objects of the Russian cultural heritage using up-to-date digital technology as well as at supporting the traditions of the multinational culture of the Russian Federation peoples. Over 200 experts from major Russian and foreign museums, libraries, higher education institutions and other cultural institutions will take part in the work of the Forum.

The programme of the Forum includes a plenary session, a round-table discussion and a number of panel discussions. The working languages of the Forum will be Russian and English.

A competition of projects in the field of cultural heritage preservation will also be held within the framework of the Forum. Following the results of the Forum, an artbook-catalogue will be published, featuring all the materials presented during the Forum. This catalogue is to be a collection of the innovative projects in the field of preservation of the cultural heritage of the Russian world. This album will be distributed between the major Russian and foreign museums, libraries, higher education institutions and other cultural institutions.

A special cultural programme will be offered to the participants of the Forum. It will include an excursion to Novgorod State Museum Reserve as well as visiting of Veliky Novgorod's architectural sites.

The Foundation will cover the participants' travel expenses such as fares, catering and visa expenses.
