The first Russian person that Joshua Braganza met was a circus mechanic. Joshua grew up in a small town in the state of Rio de Janeiro, where nearly everyone knew each other. The Russian’s name was Nikolai, and he was notable for his education: he was well versed in literature and music. Nikolai shared what winter was like in Russia and about beauty of its nature. Those stories spread a fairy tale sensation - this is how children perceive a narrative of a journey to faraway lands. Perhaps that was the time when the boy got a forefeeling in his soul that his whole subsequent life would be connected with Russia.
Constitutional Court of Latvia has debarred Russian-speaking children of the right to study in their native language, even in private schools recently. Previously, such a resolution was passed by the government and supported by the president. According to explanatory notes to the court decision, it was done taking into account “historical circumstances,” “prolonged occupation and Russification.”

Yaroslavl has never lacked glory and reasons for commemoration – it is one of the oldest cities in Russia that crossed the millennial threshold; it was the stronghold of mass resistance during the Time of Troubles, as well as the birthplace of Russian theater. And Yaroslavl is the first Russian Christian city on the Volga and the oldest city (of the existing ones) on the main Russian river.
As the Russkiy Mir reported, the famous Uffizi Gallery in Florence will allocate four rooms for Russian icons. The masterpieces by Russian iconographers will be exhibited for the first time in a permanent exhibition and will be included in the main itinerary of one of the oldest museums in Europe. The exposition will include 78 icons that were brought to Italy in the 18th and 19th centuries.
