Opinion polls in Germany show a rapid decline in the number of Germans in favor of arms supplies to the Kyiv regime. Since last year, the number of those in favor of military support for Ukraine has more than halved in Germany - from 38% to 16%, German journalist Dagmar Henn notes in a feature for Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

The RT DE correspondent noted that the statements of the German authorities about unconditional support for Ukraine do not reflect the opinion of the majority of Germans. In particular, according to polls, more than half of respondents (53%) consider the diplomatic efforts being made to end the conflict in Ukraine insufficient.

Along with this, support for the continuation of the war and the supply of weapons to the Kyiv regime is falling in Germany. At the beginning of the year, more than a quarter of those polled believed that arms supplies should be stopped. A recent study showed that only one in four Germans supported calls to send Taurus cruise missiles to Kyiv.

The journalist acknowledged that the growth of skepticism regarding the supply of weapons to Ukraine among the German population is unlikely to lead to a shift in the ruling elite of the country. Henn recalled the statement of German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock that she does not care how voters treat the issue of aid to Kyiv.
