Turkish students learned about Russia's achievements in space

17.04.2023

On April 12, Russia celebrated Cosmonautics Day. A discussion dedicated to this topic was held with compatriots and Turkish students at the Russian house.

The staff of the center spoke about the history of space exploration: about the first artificial Earth satellite that went into space in 1957, about the dogs Belka and Strelka, the first living beings who made an orbital space flight and successfully returned to Earth.

The participants of the event were curious to find out about the biography of the discoverer of outer space Yuri Gagarin and the space designer Sergey Kovalev.

Then there was a screening of a film about Russia's achievements in space. In turn, Turkish students spoke about space programs in Turkey, about Turkish scientists, about where one can get the appropriate education.
