More than 900 African students start learning Russian

Online Russian language courses to be launched thanks to the Russian Embassy in the Republic of South Africa and St. Petersburg State University with the support of the Russkiy World Foundation.

The organizers have received more than a thousand applications from South Africans, who wish to learn Russian, and several hundred applications from Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Uganda, Ethiopia and other African countries. There are also people from Latin America, Asia, Europe and North America.

More than 900 students will begin the six-month Russian language course next week.
