11 countries demanded to stop discrimination in the language and national sphere in relation to the Russian-speaking population, which is spreading in some states. This is written in a statement made during a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), RIA Novosti reports.

The document was signed by representatives of Russia, Venezuela, Belarus, China, Iran, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Syria, Myanmar, Nicaragua and North Korea.

The authors of the statement recall the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, directly contradicts what is happening right now. Countries need to fulfill their obligations under international human rights treaties.

According to the countries that signed the document, it is necessary to stop the Russophobic hysteria as soon as possible, to stop the persecution of Russians and Russian-speaking people.

Earlier, Russia used its veto right in the UN Security Council and blocked the draft resolution initiated by Washington and Tirana. The United States and Albania offered to condemn the actions of Russia and not to recognize the results of the referendums that took place in the people's republics of Donbass, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
