The number of cases of coronavirus in Russia has increased remarkably over the past day, TASS reports. If the day before, on August 9, a little more than 16,000 cases were recorded, then on August 10, the number of cases approached 24,000. The federal infection control headquarters noted that 23,771 infected is the highest number since March 26, when 24,072 cases were detected.

In total, almost 19 million people have contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Over the past day, 56 people have died from complications after COVID-19 — 60 people died from the disease the day before. In total, 382,902 people became victims of the disease. The number of people who recovered per day exceeded 14,500; yesterday, 1,500 fewer people recovered.

The number of hospitalizations over the past day has increased by more than 3,5%.
