Russian recognized as best director at BRICS countries festival

Alexey Pimanov was recognized as the best director at the BRICS film festival, TASS reports. Its results were summed up on Monday, August 8. The forum was held in Shanghai online. Participants from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa competed for the victory.

The director from Russia was noted for the sports drama Eleven Silent Men. The film tells the story of how football players from the Dynamo Moscow team went on a trip to Great Britain. This happened almost 80 years ago, after the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
 
The Grand Prix of the film festival went to The Battle of Changjin Lake from China.
 
Brazilian Romulo Braga was awarded the title of best actor, and Zikhon Bali from South Africa won in the female nomination. The special jury prize went to the Indian film Aparajito.
