Children from Syria are learning Russian and getting to know Russian culture as part of a new program. The program was timed to coincide with the new academic year, according to the website of the Ministry of Education. As part of the department's humanitarian project, the children studied at the Interdom International Education Center, which bears the name of Elena Stasova. The center works in Ivanovo.

The children spent two days in Moscow - they visited Red Square and the Historical Museum, Sparrow Hills and Arbat, rode a cable car and visited a hockey match. They spoke Russian and attended evening educational classes.

The program was developed taking into account linguistic, cultural, psychological and cognitive aspects of education. Movies and cartoons helped to facilitate the process of learning the Russian language for children. In addition, they got acquainted with many sights of the Russian capital.

From the city of Ivanovo, Syrian schoolchildren went to the Artek camp. They joined the participants of the “Sailing the Dream” session, which brought together schoolchildren from all Russian regions and from other countries.
