The Bahamas, Guernsey and Man added to list of unfriendly countries

Moscow has included the islands of Guernsey and Man, as well as the Bahamas, in the list of unfriendly countries, the website of the Government of the Russian Federation reports. Guernsey and the Isle of Man joined the anti-Russian sanctions initiated by the UK. In the Bahamas, operations with the Russian Ministry of Finance, a number of Russian banks and credit organizations are prohibited.

The decree adopted by the government is intended to implement the March presidential decree on the obligations to certain foreign creditors. In accordance with it, individuals and legal entities from Russia, its various regions and the state itself can pay off foreign creditors from unfriendly countries in rubles. This applies to payments in the amount of more than 10 million rubles ($170,000) per month.

Greece, Croatia, Denmark, Slovakia and Slovenia were previously added to the list of unfriendly states. It also includes EU member states, USA, Ukraine, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, as well as Australia, Albania, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Micronesia, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Republic of Korea, San Marino, North Macedonia, Singapore, Taiwan, Montenegro and Switzerland.
