Pierre de Gaulle, the grandson of the first President of France, Charles de Gaulle, called the discrimination against Russians in Western countries outrageous, RIA Novosti reports.

He recalled that his famous grandfather always treated Russia well and never doubted that France needed to do everything to maintain strong ties with Moscow. The outstanding French politician, statesman and military man was very fond of Russia. Pierre de Gaulle noted that he and his family were also very fond of the Russian people. In his opinion, the rights of the people of Russia are trampled in the West, and this is unfair.

He compared the current situation with the times of theVichy regime in France.

Russian athletes and performers should not be held accountable for what is happening right now, Pierre de Gaulle emphasized. ''This systematic and indiscriminate policy of expropriating and discriminating against the entire Russian nation is outrageous and shocks me greatly,'' he concluded.

The rights of Russian compatriots are most severely violated in Canada, the Baltic republics, Great Britain, Poland, the United States and Germany. This is stated in a report published by the Russian Foreign Ministry. Russians are denied the provision of educational, medical, banking and other services. The authorities are taking restrictive measures against Russian entrepreneurs. Property and bank accounts belonging to the Russians are frozen. In addition, people are forced to publicly repent and condemn the actions of the Russian authorities, the Foreign Ministry noted.
