The Gamaleya Center has begun research on a new vaccine against coronavirus, RIA Novosti reports. According to the head of the center, Alexander Gintsburg, the new drug is based on virus-like particles.

The Gamaleya Center received permission for clinical research from the Ministry of Health.

Gintsburg noted that research has begun, several volunteers have already been vaccinated. No negative reactions have been recorded so far.

It is assumed that the new vaccine will be administered twice with a three-week break. The drug differs from Sputnik V in that its components are the same.
