Skoltech professor Artyom Oganov and Oslo University professor Nils Stenset issued an open letter calling on colleagues around the world not to refuse to cooperate with scientists and scientific organizations from Russia. The message was sent to the Nature journal, TASS reports.

A dialogue between scientists from different countries is a necessary condition for the development of science, the letter stresses. Professors from Russia and Norway announced that in a difficult period, people of science are obliged to communicate despite the freezing of diplomatic dialogue.

It is noted that after the start of Russia's special operation in Ukraine, a large part of the scientific community decided to suspend relations with Russian scientists, scientific and educational organizations. The editorial offices of scientific journals introduced discriminatory measures against the publications of Russian scientists.

Earlier, Italian scientists called for maintaining ties with Russian colleagues.
