Veterans and siege survivors from many countries join "Memory that saves the world"forum

Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, residents of besieged Leningrad and war participants are invited to join the "Memory that saves the world" online forum, which starts on January 28. The forum is timed to the anniversary of the complete lifting of the siege of Leningrad, the organizer is the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg and Rossotrudnichestvo.

The city administration explained that support for veterans remains one of the priorities of working with compatriots abroad. Every year, up to 200 veterans from different countries are invited to the celebrations dedicated to the Victory Day and the Day of the Complete Liberation of Leningrad. 

Guests from 25 countries are going to perform during the forum. The governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov is going to congratulate the participants.

The forum is a platform to discuss important topics, including patriotic education and support for veterans. A wreath was laid at the Motherland monument at the Piskarevsky cemetery on behalf of the conference participants.

The Day of the Complete Lifting of Siege is celebrated on Thursday, January 27. In St. Petersburg, a series of events is timed to coincide with this date. They were attended by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the head of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
