Foreign musicians often turn to the performance of famous Russian songs. They record Russian and Soviet hits not for the Russian-speaking audience, but for local fans. REN TV spoke about the growing popularity of Russian-style parties in Europe.

The performance of songs in Russian is not a new trend for European countries. The Yale University Russian Choir, formed in the early 1950s by a student from a Russian-speaking family, performed Russian songs during the height of the Cold War. Choir members recall that promoting Russian culture in those years was "a little dangerous."

Songs in Russian are especially popular with German rock performers. The leader of the Rammstein band, Till Lindemann, performed the song "Beloved City", and the legendary vocalist Udo Dirkschneider previously recorded a duet with the Russian rock band Aria.

The Italian band Vanilla Sky performed songs from Leonid Gaidai's films: "The January Blizzard Rings" and "A Little Song About Bears." These songs made the band popular both in Russia and Italy, bringing the beauty of Italian songs to Italian audience.
