Moscow ups its position in international ranking of cities

Over the past year, Moscow has become safer, as well as improved ecology and medicine. This is evidenced by the Numbeo ranking of cities. The ranking is compiled on the basis of Internet voting. In the crime category, Moscow was named a safer city than New York, Paris, London, Berlin and others, TASS reports.

In this category, Moscow has moved to thirty-one positions over the year. Users assigned Moscow a high level (81.3 points) of safety in the daytime for megacities.

The city also improved its performance in the environmental category, moving up ten positions.Within five years, Moscow has moved 53 lines on this list, and is currently ahead of New York, as well as the capitals of France, Great Britain, and South Korea.

Internet users highly appreciated Moscow parks, cleanliness in the capital, as well as the quality and availability of drinking water. The medical index of Moscow has improved by 12 positions, in terms of the provision of medical institutions with modern equipment and the qualifications of doctors, the Russian capital is ahead of Rome, Shanghai, Los Angeles.

Users also noted improvements over the year in public transport, recognizing the reduction in the time residents spend commuting from home to work.
