Yury Bashmet's Winter Art Festival is taking place in Moscow for the third time, TASS reports. The large-scale cultural forum starts on Monday, January 17. It begins with "The Little Prince" play, starring Yury Bashmet and Konstantin Khabensky. It was shown for the first time five years ago, and all these years the production has been a huge success in Russia and worldwide.

The festival program brings together more than a dozen events, including the Moscow premiere of "Ship of Lovers." Together with Andrei Merzlikin and Olga Lomonosova, the New Russia Symphony Orchestra takes part in the performance. Yevgeny Mironov will show a one-man show ''Shostakovich. Shakespeare. Hamlet."

A notable event of the program will be the premiere of "A Gentle Creature" play. It is directed by Viktor Kramer and is based on the story of the same name by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Sergey Garmash plays the main role. The music of Kuzma Bodrov will be performed by the Moscow Soloists chamber ensemble conducted by Bashmet.

Prominent Russian conductor Yury Bashmet celebrates his birthday during the Winter Festival.  This will also be the case this year, with a big concert planned for January 24. His colleagues from Germany, Israel, Finland and other countries will come to congratulate the maestro.
