Nearly 100,000 Australians have Russian roots

Almost 100,000 Australians have Russian roots. According to the 2016 census data, most of them live in Sydney and Melbourne. Updated information from last year's census will be announced at a later date, Edinenie reports.

According to the previous census, almost 7,000 people with Russian roots lived in Sydney (in comparison with the 2011 study, their number increased by more than 600 people), a little less than 6,000 people -  in Melbourne.

It is noted that Carnegie is in the top 10 most livable areas of Victoria. There is even a Russian store, which sells buckwheat, caviar, rye bread, herring and other favorite food products of people from Russia and the CIS countries.
