A festive concert took place on the eve of the New Year and Christmas in the Australian state of Queensland. The guests of the holiday could listen to famous New Year songs in Russian and dance to their favorite tunes, watch a performance with the characters of Russian fairy tales and a performance by dancers from the Russian ballet school, the Council of Russian Compatriots of Australia writes on Facebook.

The holiday turned out to be unusual. The organizers decided to step aside from the traditional matinee format and put on a New Year's musical with the participation of young actors and musicians. They performed well-known New Year songs, which children and their parents happily sang along with.

The performance was attended by Father Frost, Snegurochka, Baba Yaga and other characters of Russian fairy tales. The dancers of the Russian ballet school from Brisbane made their debut on the big stage. The guests received gifts from Father Frost and Snegurochka.
