Slavic evening held in Taipei

On December 10, 2021, a Slavic evening organized by the Faculty of Slavic Studies and the Russian Center took place at the cultural center of National Chengchi University (Taiwan). Students staged performances based on works by Russian writers.

Russian teachers, editor-in-chief of the Cherry Orchard publishing house Qiu Guang, editor-in-chief of the Russian service of International Radio Taiwan Maria Li took part in the event.

First-year students studying Russian presented the ''When an Angel Grieves'' performance based on the play by Olga Zverlina, Pushkin's fairy tale "The Tale of the Golden Cockerel" and Korney Chukovsky's fairy tale "Barmaley".

Second-year students acted out "The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish" by Alexander Pushkin, the tale of Sergei Aksakov "The Scarlet Flower" and the play by Olga Stepnova "When Angels Joke".

The third year students sang famous Russian songs. Fourth-year students and undergraduates staged performances based on Chekhov's story "At A Country House" and Pushkin's story "The Young Lady-Peasant".

Students studying Polish, Czech and Croatian as foreign languages ​​also took part in the event.
