Arkhangelsk hosts 5th Arctic Open International Film Festival

The Arctic Open International Film Festival opens on Thursday, December 9 in Arkhangelsk. This year, the film forum is being held for the fifth time.

The organizers received more than 1,500 applications from 98 countries. The majority of applications came from Russian filmmakers, Iran was in the second place, in India - in the third.

The preference was given to filmmakers from the Arctic countries. The films reflect almost the entire range of problems that a modern person faces, regardless of place of residence, social status and nationality. 

The competition program includes about 50 films, including 20 features, both full-length and short. More than 20 documentaries were presented at the competition. They were submitted by participants from Russia, Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Sweden, USA.
