The model of the legendary ''Varyag'' cruiser will be kept in the Seychelles National Historical Museum, according to the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The solemn ceremony of its transfer took place on December 20. The event was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the arrival of the warship in the port of Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles. The cruiser entered Victoria 105 years ago, during the transition from Vladivostok to Romanov-on-Murman, which is now called Murmansk.

Russian Ambassador Artyom Kozhin told the guests of the ceremony about the ''Varyag'' cruiser's rich history.

The Seychelles authorities thanked the Russian side for providing the model of the cruiser. It is gratifying, they noted, that now the museum visitors will be able to get acquainted with another important page of relations with Russia, as well as with the history of the archipelago itself.
