Russian and French archaeologists are going to become members of the expedition at the site of the Borodino battle, TASS reports. It is scheduled for late next spring. The project is organized by the Foundation for the Development of Russian-French Historical Initiatives. According to its head Pierre Malinowski, the expedition is timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Battle of Borodino, which happened 210 years ago.

Within the framework of "Borodino 1812-2022" project scientists are going to search for the remains of eight French generals who died during the Battle of Borodino. The names of seven of them are carved into the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

The work on the territory of the Borodino Field Museum-Reserve will continue for three weeks. Famous Russian researchers and descendants of generals who fought on the Borodino field will become participants in the project.  After the expedition is completed, it is planned to erect a Peace Monument at the site of the excavation.
