The full cycle production of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine will begin in Vietnam, RIA Novosti reports. The corresponding document was signed by representatives of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the Russian Binnopharm Group company and the Vietnamese &T Group on Wednesday, December 1. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Le Van Thanh.

According to the head of RDIF Kirill Dmitriev, production can begin in the first months of next year.

The plant in Vietnam will become one of the key hubs for the production of Russian drugs. Large-scale agreements were signed with Vietnam on large volumes of vaccine purchases. The new production facility will make it possible to promote the drug both in Vietnam and in other countries of the region.

RDIF, Vabiotech and the Vietnamese investment group Sovico Group also signed an agreement to localize the bottling and packaging of Sputnik V and Sputnik Light vaccines in Vietnam.
