Compatriots of the Year awarded in Sofia

The Compatriot of the Year award has been presented in Bulgaria, the Vidin-2002 Russian club writes on Facebook.

Russian emigrants living in Bulgaria and local residents are eligible to receive the award. The laureates of the prize are recognized for their special contribution to the popularization of Russian culture and the activities of the Russian diaspora in Bulgaria, as well as for their work aimed at protecting the rights of compatriots. The laureates received their awards from the hands of the Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Eleonora Mitrofanova.

Among the awardees is Elena Petrova from the Vidin-2002 club. She was noted for her personal contribution to the development of the youth movement of Russian compatriots in Bulgaria.

Zhana Laleva, a teacher of the Russian language, coordinator of Total Dictation in Blagoevgrad, was awarded for her special contribution to the preservation and popularization of the Russian language

Members of the Union of Russian-speaking writers of Bulgaria Natalia Nedyalkova and Viktor Ivanov were awarded with certificates of honor and special awards for contribution to the preservation and popularization of the Russian language in Bulgaria.
