Cuba has received the humanitarian cargo worth  $ 3 million sent by Russia, TASS reports. Almost 700 tons of sunflower oil was delivered to Cuba within the framework of the World Food Program (WFP) under the auspices of the UN.

Russian Ambassador Andrei Guskov calls the delivery of humanitarian aid proof of the strong friendship that has linked the two countries over a long period of time. The diplomat added that more than 500 tons of oil was brought to Havana, almost 160 tons - to Santiago de Cuba.

Two weeks ago, Russia completed the first stage of a humanitarian action, delivering medicines, medical devices and essential goods to Cuba. More than 250 people and 13 organizations from 32 Russian regions took part in the action.
