The Russia-Indonesia online conference was held within the framework of the Beacon of Russian Achievements project, organized by the Miklouho-Maclay Foundation. In addition to representatives of Russia and Indonesia, more than 120 participants from Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Kazakhstan and other countries joined the conference, ArtMoskovia reports.
The head of the foundation, Nikolai Miklouho-Maclay, presented a website, which presents the most striking achievements of Russian researchers in recent years.
The Ambassador of Russia to Indonesia Lyudmila Vorobyova dwelled on the history and the current state of diplomatic relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of science in the rapprochement of the peoples of Russia and Indonesia.
The head of the Russian House in Jakarta, Victoria Vikman, emphasized that the cycle of online events planned as part of the Beacon of Russian Achievements project will help find directions for cooperation between the two countries and will present Russian education in Indonesia. She pointed to the advantages that Russian education and the Russian language provide in modern realities.
