VR film about Catherine the Great released in 3 languages

The film about Catherine the Great entitled ''Chinese Palace. The Empress's Legacy" premiered in St.Petersburg. Virtual reality (VR) technologies were used when creating the film.  VR allow the viewers to follow the empress on her walk through the historic palace in Oranienbaum, TASS reports.

In addition to the Russian-language version, the film was released in English and Chinese. The St. Petersburg administration announced that the city is looking for various options for a bright and modern display of St. Petersburg attractions. The film, created by the Lendok film studio, combines features of documentary and historical drama.

The main part was played by the famous Russian actress Yekaterina Guseva, other historical figures are also presented in the film. The Chinese Palace is part of the Palace and Park Ensemble ''Sobstvennaya Datcha'', which became the first personal residence of Catherine the Great. The palace is the only Rococo building in Oranienbaum. It is undergoing restoration work, which is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2024.
