Exhibition dedicated Dostoevsky's 200th anniversary opened in Sofia

The celebratios of Feodor Dostoevsky's 200th anniversary continue all over the world, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports. In particular, rare editions of his most famous works are being exhibited in Sofia. 

The exhibition, which kicked off in the National library, presents Dostoevsky's books in Russian, Bulgarian, English, German, and Spanish. Among the exhibits are works by Fyodor Dostoevsky, which were published in Bulgaria more 100 years ago. In particular, "Crime and Punishment" was published in Bulgarian in 1913, "The Brothers Karamazov" - in 1920.

Among the exhibits, there is also an album by Ilya Glazunov with illustrations for Dostoevsky's works. 

A presentation of the two-volume "Diary of a Writer. 1873-1980 " in Bulgarian took place at the opening of the exhibition.

Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria Eleonora Mitrofanova welcomed the visitors of the exhibition. She recalled that UNESCO declared 2021 the year of Dostoevsky. Let's hope, the high-ranking diplomat added, that Russia and Bulgaria will expand cooperation in the cultural sphere.
