Millions of people, in Russia and abroad, have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recalled. The minister stressed that no major side effects were registered after vaccination, RIA Novosti reports.

Lavrov cited Russian president Vladimir Putin, who confirmed that 120 million people were vaccinated with the Russian drug.

Sputnik V has been in use in many countries for over a year. According to Alexander Gintsburg, who heads the Gamaleya Center (the Sputnik V developer) a large amount of data has been received from these states, which confirms the effectiveness and safety of the drug.

The scientist recalled that the vaccine was widely used in Argentina, Mexico, Hungary, the United Arab Emirates and more than 10 countries. The reports of the corresponding health ministries contain no complaints.
