A monument to Leo Tolstoy has been erected in Seoul within the framework of the Russian Seasons program, TASS reports. The monument of the great writer was installed in Namsan Park.

The bust was created by Ekaterina Pilnikova. The young sculptor graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Prior to the creation of the monument, she participated in the preparation of the exposition at the Russian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2019.

Earlier, a monument to Alexander Pushkin was erected in the center of Seoul. It is located on the square that bears the name of the Russian poet. The monument was unveiled eight years ago during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Theatrical performances and ballet performances, as well as exhibitions of art are brought to South Korea within the Russian Seasons project. The festival program includes tours of the Boris Eifman Ballet Theater, the Mariinsky Theater, the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, and the New Russia Symphony Orchestra.
