Russia delivers humanitarian aid to Kabul

More than 100 tons of humanitarian aid have been delivered from Russia to Afghanistan, RIA Novosti reports. Three Russian military transport planes landed at the Kabul airport on November 18. The aid consisted mainly of long-term storage food and blankets. 

Russians and citizens of other countries are evacuated back to Russia on these planes. In particular, about 400 people will be taken out of Afghanistan. Among the evacuees are citizens of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Ukraine, Afghanistan. Russia's Ministry of Defense explained that each plane also carries doctors, the necessary medical equipment and medicines.

Representatives of the Taliban movement (banned in Russia) who seized took over in Afghanistan, thanked to Moscow for assistance. They appealed to other countries to follow Russia's example. The evacuation was organized by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in accordance with the instructions of the head of state.

At the end of the summer, about 400 people were evacuated from Afghanistan. Most of the passengers are Afghans with Russian passports.
