Residents of 120 countries have joined the Geographical Dictation this year, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports. It was held on Sunday, November 14.

The organizer of the dictation is the Russian Geographical Society (RGS). According to its head, Sergei Shoigu, the action took place in Antarctica and even in space with cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov.

Sergei Shoigu is sure that the Geographical Dictation prompted Russians and foreigners to take interest in Russia and its history, nature, and people. During several years of its existence, the action has grown to 8,600 venues in more than 100 countries.
