Beijing thanked Moscow for rescuing the Chinese sailors. The Panama-flagged container ship Rise Shine suffered holes and ran aground near Nakhodka on Monday, November 8. There were 14 crew members on board, all of them were Chinese citizens, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang Wenbin, employees of the local department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry immediately responded to a SOS signal and sent a helicopter to the scene. All the sailors were taken ashore, no one was hurt.

According to preliminary data, the reason for the ship's grounding was the breakage of the anchor due to the strong waves at sea, when the container ship was standing 200 meters from the coastline.

"China expresses its gratitude to the relevant departments of the Russian Federation for carrying out the rescue operation," Wang Wenbin said.
