Students of nearly 60 film schools from 20 countries have sent their works to the PeterKiT student film festival, TASS reports.

The film forum opened on Thursday, November 11. It is traditionally hosted by St. Petersburg. Participants, guests, jury members and organizers gather at the State Institute of Cinema and Television. Over the years of its existence, the film festival has taken a proper place in the world of cinematography. This year, the forum is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of director Igor Maslennikov.

The organizers received about 400 applications. The first qualifying stage was intended for students of the Film and Television Institute. During the second, international, stage, students from St. Petersburg have the opportunity to compare their work with the work of foreign peers. The jury led by director, screenwriter and producer Vladimir Kott is going to determine the winners.

For the second time in its history, the festival program will be supplemented by pitching of debutants. Young people from 18 to 35 years old will present their works.
