Moscow has sent an appeal to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to launch an arbitration between the United Nations and the United States. The appeal is dedicated to to the problem with issuing US visas to Russian diplomats, Senior Counsellor and Head of Legal Section at Russia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations Sergei Leonidchenko said, RIA Novosti reports.

The diplomat stressed that Russia had no problems with obtaining visas for almost five years. He accused the host state - the United States - of improperly fulfilling its obligations.

Washington regularly refuses to issue visas to both the staff of the Russian Permanent Mission to the UN and members of Russian delegations.

The US authorities also confiscated Russian diplomatic property and restricted the freedom of movement for the Russian embassy staff. Four years ago, the United States expelled a group of employees of the Russian Permanent Mission to the UN, Leonidchenko added.

The UN has not so far reacted to ant of these cases. The systematic and demonstrative nature of the violations is evidence that the US authorities are not going to do anything about the situation, Leonidchenko summed up.
