Veterans, siege survivors, Russian diplomats and compatriots living in Canada celebrated the 4th anniversary of the installation of the Victory Memorial near Toronto. Flower-laying ceremony and fireworks were organized with the support of the Russian Consulate General in Toronto, according to the press service of organizations of Russian compatriots in Canada.

The participants recalled that the opening of the monument four years ago caused a mixed reaction in Canada. Now the memorial is a place of attraction for many Russian compatriots and immigrants from other republics of the former Soviet Union.

The event took place with the participation of historical reenactors, who donned Soviet soldier uniforms, and fired a volley in honor of the heroes from rifles. Russian and Soviet flags are flying over the memorial. The monument is a large stone with a granite tablet, which repeats a monument to a Soviet soldier, erected in Berlin's Treptower Park.
