Maria Lasitskene recognized as best athlete of September in Europe

The European Athletics Association has named the Russian high jumper Maria Lasitskene as the best athlete in September. Lasitskene became the winner of the Diamond League and won the tournament in Berlin, TASS reports.
 
Lasitskene returned to international competition a few weeks after winning the Tokyo Summer Olympics. In early September, she recieved the silver medal at the Belgian stage of the Diamond League, winning the final of the competition five days later. On September 12, she showed the best result at the tournament in Berlin.

Maria Lasitskene won gold medals in the world championships three times before winning the Olympian gold. Two years ago, the Russian athlete was recognized as the best athlete in Europe.
