Russian athletes have won the unofficial medal standings at the world championship in rhythmic gymnastics. The tournament is not over yet, but not a single team has the chance to catch up with the Russian national team in terms of the number of medals, TASS reports.

The World Championship is held in Japan. The Russian team has the total of nine awards, including five gold medals, three silver and one bronze.

On Friday, October 29, the Russians won the group all-around and became the best in the team competition.

Dina Averina won the highest number of awards, becoming the best in exercises with a hoop, ball and club. The athlete is now a 17-time world champion, repeating Evgenia Kanaeva's record for the number of victories in world championships.
